The Lowden O38 guitar features Reclaimed Brazilian Rosewood (CITES Certified) back and sides. George made his first 38 back in 1976 for his friend .Normally Lowden doesn't use much shell inlays in low den guitars but with this model Lowden indulged a little! Subtle use of leaf shaped abalone fingerboard inlays and soundboard purfling combined with the ideal choice of reclaimed Brazilian Rosewood and a cedar top.
The soundboard is made from master grade Dark Cedar and is combined with an artistic rosette from Abalone, Rosewood, Sycamore, mahogany, Walnut. The bindings are Figured Sycamore with rosewood and Abalone purfling. The tuners are the great Gotoh 510 in Gold with genuine Ebony knobs.
The split saddle bridge and headstock overlay is Rosewood. The very stiff 5-piece neck is made from "Church pew" Mahogany, Rosewood and Walnut. The fingerboard is Ebony with a beautiful Abalone 'Leaf' Inlay.
